NSAR Alumni
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing one of our animals adopted into a family. We love to hear stories and get pictures of our alumni!
Oakley March 2025

Oakley was one of HCAC's longest residents, until he went into foster care with Kathleen and George. He learned to be a house dog and won over their hearts. Now, they have adopted Oakley as part of their pack.
Jackson March 2025

Jackson, formerly Glock, was a special case from the start. After being shot in the eye and needing some major surgery, Jackson went into foster care with Sue. One of NSAR's volunteers fell in love with him and now Jackson has a permanent home with Roy.
(You can read his story on our blog)
Rosie April 2025

Rosie came to HCAC scared and shy. She went into a foster home with Jerri and Bob, who loved her and made her feel safe. Now, she has been adopted by Larry and Terry--she's living her best life!
Leo, George, & Izzy April 2025

Leo arrived at HCAC scared of everything. In no time, he was being fostered by Sue to build some confidence. Meanwhile, George and Izzy were rescued from under a house by HCAC staff. The 3 went to an event with NSAR and were all adopted together! Now, permanent siblings, they are happy and thriving!
Murphy June 2025

Murphy had a rough start. Arriving at HCAC as a puppy, he never had the chance to be in a home. One of NSAR's volunteers was able to foster him and after some time, he was adopted. His home situation didn't work out and Murphy once again found himself being fostered--this time by Dr. Kim and Elizabeth Glass. Well, happy endings aren't just for fairy tales. His foster family fell in love with him and he has now been adopted forever!
Peanut June 2025

Peanut joined the dogs of Harris County Animal Control when she and her littermates were discovered living underneath a house. Our ACTs crawled in to retrieve them, but Peanut was feisty and alluded capture! On the second day, she was brought in and cleaned up. This silly girl got lucky! She went right into foster care with Sue, Ron, and their pack. And what could be better than being invited to stay on their farm?! Now Peanut is a permanent pack member--loved and living her best life!
Winnie Pooh July 2025

Winnie Pooh and her 2 littermates were found wandering--3 little chihuahuas loose and unclaimed. They came into Harris County Animal Control scared and a bit unsocialized. Enter Shannon, an NSAR foster mom! She and her husband took them home to their own pack to work with them. Low and behold, their true personalities began to shine! Winnie was adopted into their home as a new family member--and not to worry, her siblings found furever homes too!
Lucy & Rascal July 2025

Rascal, Lucy, and their sister Winnie, were all found running on busy roads. They were brought into HCAC and showed a little bit of attitude at being captured! After Foster Mom Shannon worked her magic, these pups relaxed and realized how good they had it as house dogs! Rascal and Lucy were so lucky to get adopted TOGETHER by Murphy! Now, they run as a pack of 5, happy, loved, and safe!
